Making Things Better, Scripting Life.

Weekends are such a blessing, my time for reflection and recharging.
This morning I picked up my book, Manifest Your Desires by Esther and Jerry Hicks and began reading. How inspiring, they talk about the 'scripting process' and this is how it works.
You pretend that you are a writer and that everything you write will be performed exactly how you write it. Your only job is to WRITE IT. You must describe it in detail, everything exactly as how you would want it to be.
This process helps you get specific, to include detail and thus bring greater clarity to help you understand what you do desire. The longer you focus on something, the more detail you give it and the faster the energy moves. This is so true. You get to a point where you actually feel the momentum of your desire and the Universal Energy pushing things along. You can literally feel when you are on the brink of breaking through, as the dream begin manifesting. Every time magic happens we are surprised. But we know it works and I often wonder why we are surprised. I think it is because many of us were raised to expect to struggle and to not be supported or have the expectation to get what we dream of.
I  am so happy right now. So happy to have the wonderful books available for my snuggly mornings when I can read and journal and dream. To have the time to spend on my dreams and my study of all the wonderful resources out there to help us understand our life here on earth.
I am also blessed to have such a loving family and so many great friends.
So I will take some time this morning to do some 'scripting'.  Manifest Your Desires states that "If you regurgitate your script long enough you begin to accept it as reality; and when you are accepting it in the way you accept reality, the Universe believes it and responds in the same way." I love it.
I first discovered Esther and Jerry by word of mouth from my friend Peggy, who went on a cruise with then to hear the teachings of Abraham. Since then I have watched videos with the inspiring words of Abraham spoken alongside wonderful images. It is all so joyful and positive.
I share these videos as favourites on my youtube channel as I find them so uplifting. My favourite quote is the one about 'going downstream' as that is where you end up anyway. We so often insist on trying to paddle against the current instead of going with the flow.
So here is Esther talking about paddling upstream and how fruitless it is.
Why do we seek to make things 'hard work'. She explains how not going with the flow takes away a joy. You feel wonderful when you dream.

Everyday I try to stop and breathe and remind myself that 'everything happens in Divine right order.'

Affirmation for Today

"I am what I am and that is my evolution. What others perceive of me is a part of their evolution" Stuart Wild

I love starting my day with my Morning Pages or journal.

I also love reading a page from Doreen Virtue's Daily Guidance from Your Angels. Today I opened it at 'Find the Blessing and Gift Within Everything'

Doreen writes:
I find the gift within each relationship and see the blessing within every situation. Instead of judging myself and others, I view everyone compassionately. As I understand the lessons within recurring events, I break unhealthful patterns.'
We all grow by taking actions that we feel good about such as setting boundaries and seeing everything through loving eyes.
I am thankful for such wonderful books to help me start my day.

Major Events Looming Large

I have a couple of things coming up that are very exciting, yet bring a certain element of pressure.
First of all I am applying to do my Master of Education in Arts Education. This will start up in September and I am very excited to say the least. Doing a Masters has been a long time goal, but only if it was really relevant to my life and life's work. This one seems perfect, it covers, art, drama, writing, music and aesthetics in general. I am always doing this stuff in my class anyway, and now I am archiving all my songs and rhymes etc on youtube, I thought perhaps some of this would work its way into my Masters Portfolio.
Why I say this is looming large is that the deadline for applications is Jan 31st and not that far away.
I have my three reference letters, (thank you kindly) and I did my letter of intent last weekend, and gave myself a big pat on the back for that. Now I have to get an academic paper together for them, and I was hoping to find one that I did towards my degree, and this could prove interesting. If I cannot track one down then I must write something, and things are so tight around time I was hoping to not have to do that right now.

The second event approaching like a speeding train is my concert as part of the Musical Expressions series at the Richmond Cultural Centre on February 5th 2011 at 8:00.
I am so looking forward to getting back on stage and doing a 'grown up ' show, but it has been a while so the old insecurities kick in. Beth and I had a killer practice last week and things felt really good, so I really can't wait, but there are moments of "what am I doing this to myself for." When as my kids say, you want it Mum, and they are right of course.

Something special has come about as a result of doing this concert, I have started recording an EP and the songs are all turning out so wonderfully. I am doing four that I wrote many years ago, but never performed much as they were so personal to myself, or those who inspired them.  So now that time has passed and healed the wounds, I think it is time to let these songs be heard.
One of them is a happy little ditty I just wrote, but it works in perfectly with the others.
You can find out more about my music at my Pam Carr Music website or on facebook.

So needless to say, I am practicing like mad and looking forward to going into the studio next Friday to do the vocals for "Rise Above It All."  I have to do the press releases and promo stuff, as it all helps to try and fill the theater on the night.

There is so much work involved in producing these kinds of shows and I really cannot say enough about the amazing Cherelle Jardine who works so hard to put this concert series together.

So this morning I have spent procrastinating and uploading video to my iMovie and editing it and adding videos to pamelasunshinetv and one of my other blogs. I am also trying to keep adding new songs to the Violet Femmes Music blog, so today it was Imogen Heap.
I really am as happy as can be keeping all this stuff going, it suits my butterfly nature I suppose.

Weekends Are My Time For Blogging

Working full time as a teacher means I have little energy for blogging week nights. I have also got several blogs, as my interests are varied and I try to feed them all.
I do try to add some videos to my youtube channel on a regular basis. Then there is Violet Femmes, my blog in support of women musicians that I try to keep ticking over.  I am very excited about my newest blog,  Pams Creative Classroom and I look forward to posting pictures of the happenings in my classroom, as well a gems I find in my travels around the internet. This is really a big thing for me as I get to share my philosophy around teaching, learning environments, childrens music etc.

Here are a couple of my students intent on cutting out some Wild Things for our big class picture.

It seems that the weekends are the perfect time for working on my blogs.  Setting them up is always fun, and tweaking the design is always interesting work.
So, as a result I did not go out for a walk as planned and this is not great, although the rain pouring did have something to do with that decision.  Normally I love the rain, but today I just felt so content in my warm little apartment, and decided that it will wait until tomorrow.
I did manage to do my yoga this morning and my meditation as well.  This practice helps me bring balance to my life and is as important to me as my daily journal writing.
It will be interesting to see if another whole week goes by before I get back to this blog.  Let's wait and see, perhaps I have motivated myself to be more diligent.

Back Again After Quite a While

I have been so busy and setting up blogs and youtube channels, teaching full time and taking time to visit family and cuddle grandchildren that it seems I have been doing a lot of changing and growing as time slips by.

My daughter Beth has started working in the Magic Puddle Productions office and it is really making a difference. Beth has so much experience in the Arts and Entertainment Management field and it is truly a gift to have her working for Magic Puddle.

She has distribution to the  Library systems here in Canada and the USA  and I am currently developing new project to build our product line. It is certainly exciting to here she has got new radio/web stations playing the songs from Growing Up Green and we are working on a tour for 2011 that fits in with my teaching schedule.

I got to perform at Burnaby Village for four days over Christmas and this was so magical. Telling stories and singing songs for families out for a day at this special location is certainly a joyful experience.

I am looking forward to 2011, the bookings are coming in and I hope to be presenting at several Education conferences both here in BC and in the US.

Another amazing thing is that I am applying to do my Masters in Education in Arts Education at SFU, starting in September.  This is the perfect time for me to do this and my special friend Loretta is also applying alongside me, so we can support each other on our journey.  It is my goal to ultimately be able to further share my teaching experiences and strategies with other teachers or student teachers.
So I have been affirming, I am in the right place at the right time doing the right thing.

More on my new blogs for sharing songs, chants and stories next time.
